The decision you are making
The EOR becomes part of the employee’s working experience. The offer, payslip, leave process and route to help should feel coherent even when your company directs the day-to-day work.
Agree the offer before sending it
Separate the contractual salary, statutory benefits, optional benefits and company policies. Ask the provider to show the employee-facing summary and explain who issues the employment contract. Make sure sales promises about benefits are reflected in the actual country schedule.
- Confirm dependants, eligibility dates and any waiting periods.
- Separate employer-paid benefits from employee deductions.
- Check whether existing service or leave will carry over.
Walk through everyday requests
Have someone demonstrate leave, expenses, a bank-detail change and a payslip question from the employee account. Identify which requests need your approval and which need local payroll or HR review. Include the deadlines that affect when an expense is paid.
- Explain approval responsibilities during onboarding.
- Provide a direct route for confidential questions.
- Test access to documents in the employee’s preferred language.
Keep the relationship clear
Your managers need to know when to involve the legal employer: changes to work location, performance concerns, extended absence or a departure. Give the employee one clear explanation of who handles work, pay, benefits and employment documentation.
- Use a shared onboarding checklist.
- Agree how sensitive cases reach the local specialist.
- Review the experience after the first complete payroll.
From the research: Teamed
Distinguishes statutory benefits from optional supplementary coverage chosen by country or role; it does not publish a complete country insurer/premium schedule here.
From the research: Remote
Remote documents iOS/Android access to employment documents, payslips, leave and receipt-based expenses. Leave dashboard shows balances, location holidays and request history; requests support partial days using an eight-hour baseline and are approved by the customer manager, not Remote. No hands-on usability or country-specific app/portal parity test performed. Country tax/benefit administration can still involve local requirements outside this interface.
From the research: Deel
EOR expenses require client and Deel approval, supporting documents and completion before payroll cutoff. Guidance says Deel usually reviews within 72 business hours after client approval, with additional documents reviewed within 24 hours. Late approval moves reimbursement to the next cycle; adjustments cannot be edited/deleted after cutoff. These are process statements, not tested resolution guarantees.
Take this into your provider call
What will this employee receive, what can they see, and where do they get help?
Give each shortlisted provider the same scenario and ask for the answer in the documents you will sign. Record the owner, any extra cost and what remains to be agreed. That makes the final comparison practical for HR, finance and the employee.
