Start with the fee, then build the invoice
An EOR budget needs separate lines for the provider’s service and the employment costs it administers. A small advertised fee does not tell you the amount needed to fund payroll. Ask each bidder for the same country, salary, start date, benefits and contract assumptions.
In our pilot, the advertised monthly service fees are $199 for RemoFirst, $599 for Deel and $699 for Remote. These are advertised rates checked on 11 September 2026, not like-for-like quotes for a named worker.
Make recurring and one-off costs visible
Request a sample invoice and a full year forecast. Separate gross compensation, employer contributions, benefits, the EOR service fee, foreign exchange and any project charges. Put the assumptions next to the figures. An annual discount is not the same commitment as a monthly contract.
For an illustrative two-person pilot, multiply the applicable monthly service fee by two for each active month. This only estimates the service-fee line. It does not estimate salary, statutory charges, deposits or termination costs.
- Ask whether a deposit is refundable and when it is released.
- Ask for the exchange-rate method and any spread.
- Include onboarding, off-cycle payroll and offboarding scenarios.
Ask for the exception, not just the promise
Provider pages sometimes qualify a headline promise elsewhere. Multiplier’s pricing page includes possible add-ons while its FAQ describes no setup fees. Confirm the applicable terms in the agreement.
Choose using the scenario you will actually buy
Request a dated, country-specific quote that names the legal employer and every cost category. Compare identical assumptions and keep uncertain lines separate. The best next step is a written clarification for the largest unknown, not an assumed zero in a comparison table.
