The decision you are making
Payroll quality is a sequence of approvals, funding, calculation and payment. A demonstration should show what happens when everything is on time and how the team recovers when something goes wrong.
Map the payroll calendar
Put the deadline for changes, your approval date, funding date and employee payday on one calendar. Include time zones and bank holidays. Make clear which deadline is controlled by your team and which belongs to the EOR or its local partner.
- Who approves the payroll calculation?
- Can silence be treated as approval?
- When must cleared funds reach the provider?
Test a correction
Use a realistic example: an allowance was omitted or the employee received the wrong amount. Ask the provider to show the ticket route, the revised payslip, the employee payment and the invoice adjustment. A response target alone does not tell you when the employee gets paid.
- Identify the decision-maker for an off-cycle payment.
- Agree how charges for provider errors are treated.
- Ask how tax or social-contribution corrections are recorded.
Make finance reconciliation easy
Give your finance team a sample invoice, payslip summary and export. They should be able to trace salary, employer charges, reimbursements and service fees without rebuilding the calculation manually. Check how corrections appear in the next cycle.
- Keep access to historical payslips and invoices.
- Confirm the export fields and accounting format.
- Check which local documents sit in a separate partner portal.

May 2026 EOR cutoff help: default 11th at 23:59 UTC, specified countries including Germany/India/Netherlands/South Africa use 16th, with semi-monthly and other exceptions. Contract amendments must be submitted by the 5th. Late approvals normally move to next payroll; off-cycle payments generally unavailable for late requests. Serbia changes require physical director/employee signatures. These submission rules do not establish a guaranteed response to provider-caused payroll errors.

Payroll help describes client changes by third working day, provider review first–seventh day, then client final review around eighth–tenth day with two business days to approve. Without action payroll is approved by default to avoid pay delays. Employee-level calculations, request-changes and additional-payment controls are documented; invoice generated after approval. This is not an independently verified accuracy guarantee.
From the research: Native Teams
Help says salary is released only after employment invoice payment clears, adding 1–3 business days after payment. If already settled, finance traces payment and supplies transfer confirmation when available. Payslip errors are reviewed and reissued. No binding emergency payment/correction deadline or customer-confirmed performance established.
Take this into your provider call
If an approved salary is wrong or late, who fixes it, by when, and who pays any charges?
Give each shortlisted provider the same scenario and ask for the answer in the documents you will sign. Record the owner, any extra cost and what remains to be agreed. That makes the final comparison practical for HR, finance and the employee.
