Country fit & local delivery

Identity brand

The service contracts identify Pilot Platform Inc., doing business as Plane. Its own rebrand page says pilot.co redirects to plane.com and legal entity names, contracts and payments continue. This is one provider, distinct from unrelated Pilot-branded bookkeeping and aviation businesses. The rebrand page shows a June 2026 update date, but the June 2023 terms already use Plane; the update date is not treated as the original rebrand date.

Iraq policy followup

Current February 25, 2026 contractor-country article excludes specified jurisdictions and comprehensive sanctions; Iraq is not named among explicit exclusions. March 13 currency table omits IQD and Iraq from the local-transfer list, while the June 17 blog explicitly includes IQD among newly added currencies and claims 138 total. The dates and scope may explain some difference; public pages do not establish an available specific Iraqi bank route or resolve the March 2025 report. Contractor-payment support must not be read as EOR hiring eligibility.

Unverified historical account, not legal adjudication or a customer failure rate. Replies/cross-posts are not separate incidents; policy evidence does not settle an individual outcome.

Delivery partners

Customer FAQs explicitly describe both owned entities and partners as local legal employers. EOR terms permit suppliers, promise disclosure of their identity and make Plane responsible for their compliance with the agreement and law. The EOR marketing page says it does not work with multiple EOR partners; this is not proof of wholly owned delivery. No complete named employer/partner map or country-by-country portal arrangement was obtained.

Eligibility and coverage

Plane advertises EOR in 100+ countries, US payroll separately, and contractor payments in 240+ countries. These numbers describe different products. Section 5.1 of the public Services Agreement limits account applicants to US-registered entities, allowing other regions through separate agreements. Global worker coverage therefore does not establish eligibility for every foreign customer entity.

Onboarding immigration

Account verification typically takes three to five business days and can take longer for extra ownership/business documents; this is not a guaranteed employee start date. EOR contracts must be signed before work starts. Marketing offers guided onboarding and visa/work-permit/dependent assistance, but exact sponsorship jurisdictions, prices and promised immigration timelines were not obtained.

Iraq contractor payment report

March 5, 2025 post by iEmerald describes an Iraqi independent contractor for a US startup, despite calling Plane an EOR/payroll solution. Author says Iraqi-bank transfers previously worked and Plane then stopped them; praises the US client’s patience. Later difficulties with other providers and a relative’s account are separate. Three visible replies and a duplicate branch provide suggestions, not a confirmed recovery. Cause, unpaid amount and provider response remain unverified. Same-title cross-posts are related leads, not additional customers. Current policy follow-up retained separately.

Costs, deposits & currency

Price scope

Published EOR service pricing is USD 499 per employee per month; US payroll is USD 19, contractor payments USD 39 per active person, and core HRIS USD 0. Marketing promises no base/minimum, setup or cancellation fee and offers monthly contracts. These are service fees, not total employment cost. Salaries, employer liabilities, selected benefits and additional agreed services remain separate.

Deposit refund

The March 2026 deposit guide requires one month of expected employee payroll plus employer taxes, collected on approval during onboarding and held through employment. It says refund occurs within 30 days after final payroll. EOR terms allow offset against unpaid amounts. The deposit protects salary payment if customer funding fails; segregation, trust custody and insolvency protection were not established.

Extra charges and changes

Services Agreement section 8 puts applicable VAT/service taxes, insufficient-funds charges and certain penalties on the customer; special services require written approval of an additional fee. Plane can revise fees with at least 30 days’ advance notice. EOR terms pass through regulatory employment-cost increases and separately price equipment or office arrangements by agreement.

Funding cutoffs

The payroll-change guide requires Canadian changes eight business days before payday and sends summaries three to four business days before payday for automatic debit. Other supported countries use the last business day of the previous month as the change cutoff and summaries at the end of the second week. Extra-cycle compensation must be funded before payment under EOR terms; Plane states it will not finance customer payments.

FX policy

The pricing FAQ says contractor exchange rates aim close to mid-market, but expressly says the EOR partner adds a small percentage markup for employees. It does not quantify that markup. Services Agreement section 8.3 defaults invoices to USD unless otherwise agreed and applies Plane’s currency policy to non-USD payments. Contractor no-markup messaging must not be transferred to EOR pricing.

Expenses and equity limits

Approved expenses submitted by month-end generally enter the next paycheck; Mexico, Ukraine and Puerto Rico use the second payday of the following month. Customer FAQs say Plane does not handle equity issuance and cannot withhold additional employee taxes for non-cash compensation such as stock/options/tokens. Equipment and office space normally remain the customer’s responsibility unless separately agreed.

It lists Canada, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Philippines as semi-monthly markets.
